The 2-day Design Jam was a collaboration between technical builders, designers, academics, creatives, and subject matter experts across science, law, policy, and industry, co-creating solutions to vital challenges impacting public goods and earth's commons.
Our design jam, designed for both technical and non-technical builders, was curated to allow participants to deepen their relationships with interdisciplinary thought leaders in the public goods funding ecosystem.
Funding the Commons and Earth Commons joined forces to bring together builders from around the world to develop innovative solutions for public goods funding. This hybrid hackathon ran from October 7 to November 7, and offered a collaborative environment where participants could ideate, prototype, and refine their projects, primarily online, with opportunities for in-person collaboration in Bangkok on November 6 and 7.
The event began with an ideation stage, where weekly mini-challenges guided participants in shaping and refining their ideas. These concepts then advanced during the prototype phase, with tracks focusing on areas such as regenerative finance, decentralized governance, and climate innovation. Participants accessed mentorship and workshops to help navigate these challenges.
The aim of the hackathon was to accelerate the development of tools and approaches that could transform our shared resources, fostering collaboration and creativity across a global community.
